Dark Resurrection Crew: Angelo Giampietro
1- How did you join the team of DR?
I knew the world of Dark Resurrection in 2006 at the end of the 1st volume after reading a news in a local newspaper in Ventimiglia about two filmmakers who were shooting a science fiction movie. At first, this news made me laugh, because I thought science fiction was a film branch too much intrepid to take place in this border area. However, at the same time since I was already involved in an amateur short film production, I was very curious about it and I wanted to know better those crazy people. So, when I looked it up on the Internet, at first I found a trailer of the movie and I could hardly believe what I was watching: it was technically perfect and exciting, even if it lasted only a few minutes. Then I found the official website, which was well organized. I sent an e-mail to the director Angelo Licata and to Davide Bigazzi who welcomed me with a great spirit of friendship and sharing.
2- Can you tell us your role within the production?
Within the universe of Dark Resurrection Vol.2, I deal with the administration and organization of the film production and therefore also with the budget management and accounting, as well as with the payments for general expenses, such as technical material and equipment. Moreover, I also deal with the organization of the sets where the shootings will take place, while looking for a catering service for the staff, for instance. I also look for the locations and if needed, I ask the permission for shooting.
3- What has given you personally the experience of DR?
The experience of DR gave me a lot, under many points of view. As far as the cinema is concerned, I improved my professional knowledge in this field, that I had already gained in my previous amateur experience. Thanks to my volunteering spirit, I also had the chance to work on the set, trying to do my best. For instance, I played the roles of assistant director and clapper boy, but I've also been an extra. So, I even had the honour to appear in the movie. Moreover, working in Dark Resurrection has been very challenging and pretty hard, owing to the very short time we had at our disposal for shooting during the weekends. That's why this experience has also helped me a lot to bring out the best in me. As far as I am concerned, I think the primary function of Dark Resurrection is its social purpose: every time the team gathers to organize or to make a scene, an atmosphere of serious engagement is always in the air. It is also an opportunity to meet again our dear friends, and to share with them the same passion for working and for having fun together .
4-Tell us a personal, funny and meaningful story in short, a special moment at your choice while you were working on DR.
I remember a very special moment for me, that is the day when I showed Angelo Licata and the rest of the production team the location I had chosen for the final scene of DR Vol.0. Togheter with the director, we shared the image of the Battle of Eron he had in his mind, celebrating with joy the challenge that we were about to accomplish. Dark Resurrection is a project able to generate a positive force in all the people who have worked to achieve it and that will surely give emotions and energy to all the people who will see it.
